August 2011
Attention District 12

As the GSR for the NEW HOME GROUP of Alcoholics Anonymous at the Flynn Home I am reaching out to the AA community for help and support for the Wednesday night Open Speaker meeting.

The meeting began in 1973 by Grady Buff when the Home opened under the name of Grady Buff Christian Home for Men. Meetings have always been organized and conducted by residents of the home.

Due recently to the lack of resident participation, I am looking to the entire AA community for volunteers to serve as outside chairpersons. Changing the format to OD and CD can be considered.

One suggestion was to eliminate the meeting all together but I was fortunate to meet Grady Buff and hear his story and do not want to let that happen. If you have any ideas or would like to volunteer you can contact me at 828-404-2876.

Thank you for your support and for helping to keep the spirit of Grady Buff alive on Wednesday nights!
